Emerald Village

Sorry i have not posted for a while been very busy with assignments and exams!

Recently for St Patricks day, I was asked to get involved with a group of people who were asked to film the official video for the St Patricks day parade in Birmingham. Our task was to produce a video to advertise the parade for next year.

I didn't realise how big the event was going to be. And it was huge.

Thankfully the sun was shining and everyone was in high spirits.

We managed to interview a lot of people and got some really good shots of the parade and the emerald village.

Below is a rough draft of the video we have produced. Just waiting for what music we are allowed to use.

Hosen Brass Gig

Filmed for Hosen Brass at a gig last night at Rose Villa Tavern. It was a brilliant night where the band played some great songs!
We had a couple of issues while filming including batteries dying, and SD cards filling up but the half hour breaks between sets gave us enough time to sort out any problems.

Here's a little video off my phone from one of my favourite performances by the band:

I also managed to catch a really lovely sunset over the Jewellery Quarter!

I will hopefully get the edited version of the gig soon, and will post it!

Rose Villa Tavern

Went to a meeting this afternoon with a nice guy called Ed who's asked me and my friend Sydney to film at a gig tonight. Went to the venue which is a pub in Birmingham called Rose Villa Tavern. This pub is the cutest, quirkiest place I've ever been to!

The gig we are filming is for a very cool brass band called Hosen Brass who play pop songs! Very strange! However it sounds great and I can't wait to see them perform later tonight.

Autodesk Maya

If you looked at my previous post you will see some of my terrible whale drawings which helped me create a animation using Autodesk Maya. This program was so difficult to get the hang of, but I eventually got into the swing of things. Using my previous storyboard I built each scene on Maya, adding textures and movements to bring the scenes to life. I built all the characters from scratch which turned out to be relatively easy.
Anyway enough boring stuff, here is the final animation...

I can't watch this anymore its too cheesy.

Whale Mail

One of my university modules needed me to create a script, storyboard and animatic. I originally found it very hard to come up with a story idea, until I decided to choose two completely random objects; a whale and a post office.
I drew out my storyboard and made embarrassing voice overs using Garage Band with my boyfriend Tom. I then scanned the storyboard into my laptop and edited the two elements together on Final Cut Pro X. This was the result (very basic I know).

Beautiful Morning

I used my iPhone camera to capture the lovely weather we had this morning and edited a few snaps together on final cut pro to create a little video!

Enjoy.
